Leadership Teams & Culture

You Don't Have to Be Liked. But You Do Have to Be Trusted.

Trust is built through small, consistent actions. There are no shortcuts.

I've said this to many leaders over the years. Leadership isn't a popularity contest. But trust isn't optional.

Without trust, you can direct. You can manage. You can enforce. You cannot lead.

Trust isn't built through declarations or team-building days. It's built through small, consistent behaviours over time. Doing what you said you'd do. Being visible when things are difficult. Taking responsibility rather than distributing blame. Telling people the truth, even when it's uncomfortable.

The fastest path to trust is the slowest one. There are no shortcuts. But once you have it, you have something that makes everything else possible.
